Cats aren’t dogs. The secret to dealing with cats is as simple — and complicated — as that.

That’s one of the messages We Care Animal Rescue got this week from celebrity “Cat Daddy” Jackson Galaxy, former star of the Animal Planet show “My Cat from Hell.”

“It’s all a matter of allowing cats to think they’re calling the shots,” Galaxy told the Star on Tuesday. “There is no telling a cat what to do.”

Galaxy was set to spend three days consulting at the nonprofit no-kill shelter along with Kristen Hassen, an animal welfare expert with a background in large public shelters. She’s advising We Care on operational matters while Galaxy is focusing on cats.
