We appreciate your interest in joining our dedicated volunteer team! Currently, we’re actively recruiting adults (age 18+) who can dedicate a weekly shift at our shelter and who share a fervent passion for enhancing the lives of our rescued and surrendered animal companions.

What You'll Do
As a volunteer, you’ll spend enriching time with our shelter residents, assist our staff in keeping our facility clean and comfortable, and provide the cats with social interactions that contribute to their well-being.
Additionally, we welcome those who can assist with both on-site and off-site events. If all of these opportunities align with your interests, we’d love to invite you to submit an application or send us your questions. Out team is looking forward to meeting you!
Foster a pet
Help Pets from the Comfort of Home
Consider signing up for our foster program. We are seeking volunteers to temporarily take in animals who are sometimes not ready for adoption or might do better outside our shelter environment.
Foster Requirements
Foster parents need to be 18 years of age or older. Anyone under the age of 18 would need parental consent and participation.
All households must be within Napa County or, depending on circumstances, surrounding counties.
Foster Parents must have reliable transportation to and from We Care and, on occasion, to veterinary appointments. In most cases, they will need to be able to bring residents once every two weeks for foster checks with the staff.
