Director of Development
Leah has deep roots in nonprofit development and is a lifelong advocate and volunteer for animal rescue causes – caring for harbor seals in Sausalito, Asian elephants in Chiang Mai, as well as cats and dogs in northern California.

Prior to We Care, Leah was a fundraiser for Bay Area nonprofits – including Pets Unlimited, San Francisco SPCA, and Marine Mammal Center – where she focused on crafting stories, writing grant proposals and developing partnerships that translated into sustaining support. Most recently, she stewarded the philanthropy of individuals and families as an advisor at Silicon Valley Community Foundation and focused on deepening engagement with peer funders through her role at the Peery Foundation. She is currently a member of the Board of Directors for Friends of San Francisco Animal Care and Control.

Leah and her family share a home with their rescue dog Dottie and We Care’s former office cat, Lady Lilly.
